Haroun Ray would like to introduce an amazing new artwork from artist Craig Johnson UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is now showing in The Gallery @ www.evilevol.com from 01/10/2009 until 31/10/09.
I believe a good artist has the skill and power to show sex, blood and murder, without the sex, blood and murder. That is what I call Real Raw Art at its pure romantic and poetic state of mind, like Andy Warhol did in the 80s.
I fell in love with Craig Johnson's art works as soon I saw his first film A projection of souls, which he did using projector showing 1970's 8mm archive footage, and filming it at the house where it was originally shot some years later. Projected onto a greenhouse, car and various rooms in the house.
Its surrealist view and portraits have dragged me on a poetic journey, which has brought fresh inspiration. His works remind me of early films by directors like Andy Warhol, Gregg Araky and Bruce la Bruce, with an important difference, everything is cleverly underlined in its sub-conscience, nothing is over exposed and that is why I consider his work to be fresh and unique.
For his latest film Unconditional Love Craig Johnson uses a romantic roughness, deliberate and disturbing recreation of a state of mind which portrays his personal relationship with his father, using un-synched dialogue, extended slow solo and slide shots, together with camera vibration, he portrays a unique and raw artistic vision about the sense and feel of love, with its human boundaries and side effects. I found this film extremely moving and inspiring, It is an honor to have a such talented, up coming artist like Craig opening The Gallery @ evilevol.com with Unconditional Love.

Hi Craig
Your photos are beautiful. I have been in awe of the work on the website.
I also wanted to thank you for bringing vol 1 of photographer's magazine, I am really pleased to have the copy and so grateful to you for remembering and parting with it. I also had a look through the suplier's mag, all looks great so I will keep them in mind for future purchases.
Thank you again, you are truly kind. I will look out for the Platform Art work and hope you have plenty more commissions to come!
Best wishes

Hello Craig,
We really enjoyed looking at your wonderful photos on Saturday and wish you a lot of luck in pursuing your dream career in film photography. Who knows one day we might see you name on the credits of some future Dr Who series!!! You certainly possess a lot of talent - a journalist, a poet and a photographer!
We wish you all the best for the future.
Kind regards from,
Olga, Daren and the crisps munchers!

in the beginning...
Hi there Craig,
I am a student from Victoria, Australia. Throughout my teenage years i slowly, but surely developed a passion for photography. Now that im 22 and technically an adult (although i would strongly argue that ha ha) this passion has led me to believe i may be able to make a career out of taking photographs. i would just like to know how you got your start, where you are now; how long it took for people to actually want to purchase your images or hire you for work. any inspiring advice would be much appreciated. really like your work.
thanks
Amanda.
